Colbún's Battery Project Becomes the First in the World Authorized to Sell Carbon Credits Under the Paris Agreement
Colbún and the Swiss KliK Foundation met in Santiago to advance their collaboration on greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in Chile. At the center of the meeting was the BESS DAS project — a 228 MW / 912 MWh lithium-ion battery storage system in the Atacama Region — which has become the first energy storage initiative in the world authorized to sell carbon credits under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, marking a landmark milestone in Chile's energy transition.
