Battery Energy Storage System

The Diego de Almagro Sur Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) -located within the Diego de Almagro Sur phothovoltaic farm-  will play a key role in compensating for the daily fluctuations of solar power generation.

System comprised of 24 battery containers, each weighing 14.5 tons

INSTALLED CAPACITY

8MW with a storage capacity of 32 MWh

GRID CONNECTION

The energy stored by the BESS is fed into the National Electric System (SEN) through the Illapa Substation

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

It will support the provision of ancillary services that maintain the reliability of the national power grid
